2008 award categories

Hi there!

Since it's been so quiet around here lately, I thought maybe this would be a good time to get the 2008 MAMM awards rolling....I haven't decided on a date yet, but it will probably be towards the end of November.

I am posting the list of categories from last year below. what I want from you all is suggestions for new categories, and which categories we maybe want to delete from last year. Since things haven't been so active, we could probably do away with a few.

2007 categories:

Best Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Movie
Best Director
Best Soundtrack
Best Song (from a movie)

I'm actually thinking we need to trim it down a bit....last year's show went 4 hours.... Some of that I can trim off in the presentation, but there are a few categories I think we could eliminate...but I will see what kind of suggestions I get first.

As far as the major categories, I think we need to keep most of them. Perhaps Best Fight could go, as well as some of the attributes like butt, chest, hair etc since Mads pretty much automatically wins those.

As far as the fan awards, I think we could get rid of Most Likely To Reply since it's been so quiet, no one is replying much. I think best signature and avatar are fine, but perhaps funniest sig/avatar could be eliminated. I'd like to see the story awards kept on, since that's my main chance at glory. Video and other creative awards should also be kept.

Hey, there's no soliciting dates around here anyway!! That's illegal where I come from. ;)

Yeah....I am not gonna go 4 hours again....it was way too muc....especially after all the time I spent at the computer just getting everything ready. We'll have to see how it goes....if I don't get much of repsonse, I'm not gonna bother....it's too much work if no one participates.

I think best screen name doesn't really need to be there.

I agree with SM a bout the best butt/chest/smile/back etc. Mads just wins by default.

I think those two pairs kind of go hand in hand. Maybe you could just do Best signature, best avatar. The two as a whole. (did that make sense?)

I'm just wondering about the time differences between us all. It might be impossible for me to take part with me being in the UK if it's in the evening. I think it will be the early hours of the morning for me as I'm 5-6 hours in front of most of you girls

Are you having a specifically 'Mads' catagory at all? I was thinking along the lines of things like favourite Mads character quote, funniest 'Svend' scene, most moving Mads moment, worst performance(is there such a thing?!), best performance, most liked Mads character, most disliked Mads character, most lovable, most embarassing etc...that type of thing.

Wow....is it really nearly Christmas....and I haven't had time to put any thought into the MAMMs this year. I'm afraid it's a bit late for them now....at least for the 2008 edition.

What shall we do? Just wait? Seeing there wasn't much new in Mads movies last year....are we really missing that much? Shall we just wait for the 2009 MAMMs when we should have 2 or 3 new Mads movies to drool over?

I could maybe do just a poll for 2008 and post the results without all the hooplah...but it probably won't be until late Jan. - early Feb. - cause it looks like I may be moving next month if everything works out.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Personally, I think we can just make it a bi-annual event (at least for now). I should have more time to put into it next summer, I won't be trying to finish school, seeing that I am now DONE!

Anyway....let me know what you think....I'm sure your 'dates' would understand....you could just spend a quiet evening with them alone.

A simple poll would be good for the year, Isabel.
Yearly polls are nice.
Then we could have the hoopla next year, when there are more Mads movies out, as you said.
